The Unsecured Creditors Committee in Genmar’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy case has created a Web site to keep interested parties up to date on the situation.

The committee also noted that Gary Potter of EZ Loader Boat Trailers was elected chairman of the committee and Marcia Kull of Volvo Penta of the Americas was elected vice chairwoman.

Other committee members include Timothy MacEachern, of Inland Plywood Co.;  Lester Turchin, of Dometic Corp.; John Pugh, of Marine Hardware, Inc.; Richard Schwenk, of Teleflex Inc. and Rose Cardinal of Tie Down Engineering.

The committee has retained attorneys Gray, Plant and Mooty, of Minneapolis, subject to court approval, to represent the interests of the unsecured creditors’ committee in the Chapter 11 proceedings.

“The main objective is to represent to the best of our abilities the unsecured creditors of this Genmar Chapter 11 proceedings and do our absolute best to get monies owned to these venders paid in some manner,” the committee said on its Web site.

In other news, the court granted Genmar an extension until June 30 to file its statement of financial affairs. The documents had been due to the court June 16.

“…an extension of time will result in greater accuracy and the completeness of the papers Debtors are required to file,” Judge Dennis O’Brien said in his order.

Genmar filed for Chapter 11 reorganization protection June 1 in U.S. bankruptcy court in Minnesota.

Good idea on keeping the creditors up to date with web site!  Thanks for doing that.
It will be nice when they actually get an accurate listing of creditors, because this one is definitely not correct.  I know our company is owed more than some listed by at least one of the Genmar companies.  So, the credit committee definitely needs to make sure the numbers are right.
