MIASF names new officersPosted on
The Marine Industries Association of South Florida elected its officers and directors for the 2009-2010 term.
The officers are John Stephens, Lewis Marine Supply, president; Mark Hanke, Merritt’s Boat & Engine Works, vice president and Jim Renfrow, Fairline Florida, secretary/treasurer. Past president is J.J. McConnell, Gilman Yachts of Fort Lauderdale.
The directors of the board are: Jimmie Harrison, Frank & Jimmie’s Propeller Shop; Keith Hart, RPM Diesel Engine Co.; Trey Irvine, Pipewelders Marine; Kitty McGowan, NautiCom Communications; Scott Miser, Rybovich; Cathy Petowsky, Lauderdale Marine Center; Jay Reynolds, J.P. Reynolds Co.; Bob Saxon, Bob Saxon Consultancy.
Harrison, Hart, and Saxon are new to the board, and Petowsky was re-elected to the board. Tom Ackel, Mark Bailey, and Kristina Hebert are retiring from the board.
“MIASF is grateful to Tom Ackel, Mark Bailey, and Kristina Hebert for their terms of service. Their talent and contributions have helped to position the association for continued success,” executive director Frank Herhold said in a statement. “Our newly elected directors have the experience and business savvy necessary to continue guiding us through this uncertain economic climate and any other challenges the association will face.”
The new board will be officially announced June 20 at the annual meeting and awards reception at the Hughes Culinary facility in Fort Lauderdale.
