RBFF Web site wins awardPosted on
The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation’s Take Me Fishing campaign Web site received a 2009 Bronze Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America.
TakeMeFishing.org won in the External Web Site category and was recognized at an awards ceremony June 4 in New York City. The award was given for superior performance in the design and execution of an individual tactic within a broader public relations program.
“TakeMeFishing.org is a great resource for boaters and anglers of all ages and experience levels and we are constantly improving the site to help anyone learn, plan and equip for a day on the water,” said RBFF president and CEO Frank Peterson, in a statement.
Since re-launching the site in April 2008 with a new design, improved navigation and enhanced usability, TakeMeFishing.org has received nearly 3 million unique visitors – up 129 percent from the previous year, according to RBFF.
The site’s social network, Fishington, currently hosts more than 18,000 members, and an interactive online game called Catch A Boat that launched June 4 has already attracted more than 12,000 participants.
