Revere Supply buys Safegard USAPosted on
Revere Supply, of Jacksonville, Fla., acquired Safegard USA, a manufacturer of recreational and commercial life jackets.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Safegard USA has been a staple in the commercial market for many years and has developed such products such as the Type I 198RT wearable. Safegard has also had a strong presence in the recreational market with its broad range of PFDs and boating accessories.
“The Safegard acquisition represents very exciting times for us at Revere,” said Andrew Kaufmann, president of Revere, in a statement. “Our goal has always been to be the premier supplier of all marine survival products to our extensive customer base, both recreationally and commercially, and the acquisition of one of the premier brands of PFDs in the market has taken us a giant step forward in realizing this goal.”
Revere Supply, a marine survival products company and a family-owned business founded in 1936, is a leading supplier of commercial and yachting life rafts and manufacturer of the Revere ComfortMax inflatable PFD.
