Scout 151 Series designed as ‘impulse buy’ boats

Posted on

Scout Boats is introducing a new 15-foot series that the company says can help dealers move product and encourage customers to enter and stay in boating.

The 151 Series consists of four models — Standard, Sport, Sportfish and Dorado — offered with special package pricing that ranges from $9,995 to $14,495 for the boat, engine and trailer. Customers can also purchase any of the four models with a Sportsman’s package upgrade, which includes Scout’s heritage green hull color, green deck and camouflage cushions for $1,000 more.

“With the current state of the industry, and with the credit/financing issues plaguing the dealer level, we wanted to create an ‘impulse buy’ for the boating consumer,” Scout CEO and president Steve Potts said in a statement.

“Our dealers will be able to choose one of these models to carry on their floor — which will not take up much floorplan space — and we’re supplying a point-of-purchase collateral piece that showcases the model series and pricing so that the customer can choose which model is right for them,” he added.

Scout is also completing its latest new and improved hybrid model, which will be based on this 15-foot platform.

Lovely, slightly underpowered “25 hp on 15′ boat” & a peppie four stroke to boot………..let’s finance the client for 12 years or more in an effort to build a client base for the next generation of boat sellers

Way to go Steve. We need to get entry-level boaters into our fold and this will help. They may not be high performance boats but they will get dad, mom, and the kids out on the water and maybe they will trade up in a year or two. If properly marketed this will lay away some of the fears and beliefs that most non-boaters have that this sport is way too expernsive.

I would like to see pictures of these boats.
I wish the release offered some pictures.
Scout please get information up on your website soon.
