Vessel Assist port opens in Hawaii

Posted on

Capt. Michael Parker opened Vessel Assist Oahu. The new towing port has a 28-foot response boat, Hoikekai, stationed at Kewalo Basin Marina in Honolulu.

“Seas can get pretty rough,” said Parker, who is Coast Guard-licensed and has worked in the marine industry all of his life, in a statement. “Out here on the open Pacific Ocean, a simple engine breakdown can get serious quickly. Our goal is to get you back to port safely, 24 hours a day.”

Boaters can reach Vessel Assist Oahu by calling the company directly at (808) 277-0772, by VHF radio on channel 16 or through the BoatU.S. toll-free Dispatch Service at (800) 391-4869.

Vessel Assist Oahu joins a nationwide fleet of more than 600 BoatU.S. towing boats.

    Aloha!

I was looking into how the “Vessel Assist” program works out of Honolulu. I have a 25 foot powerboat and for peace of mind I was wondering how the service is packaged……ie. Monthly fee, per use, range, any cost info you can give me? Mahalo and I look forwar to hearing from you.
