The National Marine Electronics Association will offer a workshop, Building Cost-Effective Electronics Platforms, for boatbuilders at IBEX.
The free workshop, scheduled for 1-2 p.m. Oct. 13, will be led by NMEA technical consultant David Morschhauser and a panel of NMEA member representatives.
“The workshop will focus on avoiding marine electronics problems from the keel up,” Morschhauser said in a statement. “Today’s vessels are multifunctional platforms that fill many roles and one is to provide a platform for marine electronics that ensures safe and efficient vessel navigation, communications, and operation.”
The workshop will include discussion of resources and practices available through the NMEA, such as NMEA Installation Standards and the NMEA 2000 Standard that makes possible the networking of marine electronics. Practices and options that maximize performance and minimize costs for boatbuilders will also be included.
