Marina manager program set for NovemberPosted on
The International Marina Institute is offering its Intermediate Marina Manager program from Nov. 15-19 in Fort Lauderdale.
IMI provides this course as a stepping-stone to its Advanced Marina Management course, scheduled for the first week of December in Fort Lauderdale, or the Marina Operator Course, scheduled for September 2010. Both of these courses are prerequisites to obtain the Certified Marina Manager or the Certified Marina Operator designations.
The IMM course covers marina-specific topics including marina law, contracts, risks and liabilities, staff management, fire- and emergency-response planning, environmental management, and health and safety compliance. The program also offers case studies and instruction from such experts in the field as former IMI director Tim Timpson, MarinaResource LLC; University of Rhode Island’s Dennis Nixon; and Kelli Thornell-Crete, owner of Ink Inc. and environmental compliance specialist.
Class fees – including four nights’ lodging, opening reception, closing dinner, daily breakfast and lunch, and all course materials – are $2,575 for AMI members and $3,050 for non-members.
