Sales up for Yamaha WaterCraft, Deep Impact

Yamaha and Deep Impact are reporting an increase in sales this summer.

Yamaha WaterCraft Group says sales across its two product lines, Yamaha WaveRunners and 21- and 23-foot boats, rose in August compared to the prior year.

The company would not release specific sales figures, but said year-over-year, sales of WaveRunners increased 13 percent, while boat sales rose 44 percent.

“While the economic environment continues to be challenging, we have been hard at work with our dealers to create a compelling offer on every product that we sell,” said Mark Speaks, president of Yamaha WaterCraft Group, in a statement.

Deep Impact also experienced an increase in sales during the summer.

One of the Deep Impact boats sold was a 33-foot Midnight Blue with twin custom-painted 300 Mercury Verado engines that is currently in the factory being customized to the buyer’s specifications, the company said.

The other Deep Impact, a 36-foot Navy Blue Cabin with triple custom-painted 300 Mercury Verado engines, was sold to an existing Deep Impact owner and is being shipped to Puerto Rico within the next two weeks.

“It’s refreshing to see the prospective buyers and the continued interest in the Deep Impact line despite the tough economy,” said Carl Hansen, of Plantation Boat Mart & Marina, in a statement.
