New York show returns with January dates

Posted on

The New York Boat Show returns to the Jacob K. Javits Center early next year with new dates – Jan. 20-24.

With the return to the traditional time slot and $2 off advance e-tickets through Jan. 19 at the show Web site, organizers hope to generate more interest and attendance.

For the last several years, the show had been held around the holidays, which exhibitors say had an effect on attendance. Attendance at the most recent show, held Dec. 13-21, 2008, was down 49 percent, according to the NMMA.

More than 1,000 boats, personal watercraft, inflatables, engines, marine accessories and more will be on display at the 105th annual show. The Affordability Pavilion, which made its debut last year, will be back with boats that can be financed for $250 or less per month.
