The 17th annual Providence (R.I.) Boat Show will be held Jan. 7-10, 2010 at the Rhode Island Convention Center.

This year, the show will feature 225 exhibitors and more than 300 boats ranging in size from eight to 40 feet as well as 150 booths offering a number of electronics, engines and marine services.

Demonstrations and workshops include BoatWise Marine Training School’s discussion of the affect ethanol has on marine motors. The Rhode Island Marine Trades Association will also have a pavilion detailing careers in the maritime field as well as practical do-it-yourself topics for recreational boaters.

Military personnel will receive half-price tickets with all valid ID. Tickets are $10 at the door and children under 12 are admitted free as long as they’re accompanied by an adult. Advanced tickets purchased online are $8. Indoor parking is available.
