MRAA supports working-waterfront bill

Posted on

The Marine Retailers Association of America recently sent a letter to Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-Maine, in support for the Working Waterfronts Grants Bill.

The bill currently has 22 cosponsors and has been referred to the House Committee on Natural Resources.

MRAA told Rep. Pingree that the nation’s cultural heritage is closely anchored to working waterfronts and many coastal waterfronts are dependent on that heritage for the economic draw for restaurants and shops, as well as the many marine-related businesses that create skilled jobs of many kinds and a vibrant tax basis for local and state governments.

“MRAA believes H.R. 2548 would start to address many of the issues facing our industry, including water access and technical job retention and creation. We are dedicated to preserving working waterfronts to enhance the boating and fishing experience,” MRAA chairman Ed Lofgren said in a statement.

Article really says nothing.  How could anyone support anything coming from this administration and congress.  I’m glad I gave up this MRAA charade years ago
