West Marine is holding a grand-opening celebration April 10-11 for its new store in Morehead City, N.C.

Doors open at 8 a.m. Saturday, and the celebration continues all weekend with a boat show, seminars, a children’s petting tank, discounts, gifts and prize giveaways, including $100 West Marine gift cards.

The boat show will feature boats from Sterling Marine, Boats Inc., Portside Marina and more. Local dealers and marine experts will be on hand for fishing seminars.

The Raymarine Mobile Showroom will demonstrate electronics, while representatives from Pure Fishing, Penn Reels, Berkley Fishing, Garmin, Lowrance, Navico, Simrad, Maui Jim Sunglasses and others will answer questions.

With more than 15,000 square feet, the new location is the largest West Marine in the Crystal Coast area. It employs 10 associates who have more than 100 years of combined boating, fishing and sailing experience. Store manager John Grimmett recently relocated to Morehead City from Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
