Strictly Sail Pacific reports improved salesPosted on
Organizers said Strictly Sail Pacific Boat Show saw an uptick in attendance and sales of boats, gear and accessories.
The show ran April 15-18 in Oakland, Calif.
The show was held in Jack London Square. Highlights included America’s Cup winners BMW Oracle Racing Team, as well as Hull & Humber and California, two vessels competing in the Clipper 09-10 Round the World Yacht Race.
Though the show was reduced to four days from its previous five-day format, the attendance remained comparable to last year, according to organizers.
“Our cash registers haven’t stopped ringing,” said chandlery manager James Morgan of Svendsen’s Marine. “Our foot traffic was more than expected and it looks like we are ahead this year in terms of sales and not in a small way. It looks like people are ready to spend money again.”
