Beneteau USA employees mentor students

Posted on

A number of Beneteau USA employees from the company’s Marion, S.C., plant volunteered their time to eat lunch once a month with 82 students from the Marion Intermediate School.

“This is more than just a mentoring program, our people are role models to these children,” said Jennifer Reinman, Beneteau USA’s human resources director, in a statement.

“With Marion School District One serving a high-risk population of youth, there is increasing data that supports the profound effects of mentoring,” said Patricia Atkinson, curriculum coordinator at Marion Intermediate School, in a statement. “Mentoring sessions offer an ideal setting to discuss their future as students, their personal goals and their need to begin looking at occupational options offered in Marion.”

Beneteau USA, the American division of the sailboat manufacturer, builds hundreds of 31- to 50-foot production sailboats in Marion, S.C.
