Florida PBS station to add sailing programmingPosted on
South Florida PBS station WPBT2 and TheSailingChannel.TV are working together to develop a new television series for sailing enthusiasts.
“Adventures in Sailing” is a 10-part series that will feature classic and critically-acclaimed films that capture the essence of the sport. Each half-hour show will be hosted by Tory Salvia, president of TheSailingChannel.TV.
“We know this is a great match for our PBS audience, who are explorers and adventurers,” said Jack Kelly, WPBT2’s vice president for production, in a statement. “We hope this initial season of great sailing programs will lead to a sustained partnership with TheSailingChannel.TV.”
WPBT2 and TSC are currently seeking corporate underwriting for the series, which is slated to air by January 2011, followed by national distribution to PBS member stations in March 2011.
