MRAA urges dealers to oppose E15

Posted on

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is expected to decide on using an E15 ethanol standard later this month or early next month, and the Marine Retailers Association of America is asking dealers to contact the White House and express their opposition to E15.

Last year, a pro-ethanol association of primarily corn co-ops and farmers petitioned the EPA to raise the ethanol standard for gasoline engines from10 percent to 15 percent.

“As you know, E10 in marine engines has caused a safety concern due to the destructive nature of the ethanol in marine fuel systems. MRAA is concerned that an increase to E15 will only increase the safety concerns,” the association said in an alert to its members.

“MRAA believes the ethanol issue, especially if it is raised to E15, will continue to impact the boating community,” the group added. “MRAA also asks dealers to inform boat owners, suppliers and other interested individuals.”

    I did my part… I contacted the White House….
But do you think anyone was home????  Did anyone read my letter????
I’m still waiting for the CHANGE…..  Unfortunately, it has been nothing but change for the bad.
Oh well, I guess I’ll go feed the ducks now.  Nothing else to do at the marina.  Ya’all have a great day.
