Former president has a new Fountain

Posted on

100710_BushFountain Powerboats and Mercury Marine recently delivered to former President George H.W. Bush his fourth Mercury-powered Fountain fishing boat, the company announced.

The Fountain 38CC, which Bush named Fidelity V, is rigged with three Mercury Verado 300-horsepower 4-stroke outboard motors that are capable of pushing the high-performance 38-foot fishing boat to 75 miles per hour.

Fountain founder and president Reggie Fountain, along with company CEO Bill Gates and Mercury Marine president Mark Schwabero, delivered the boat to Bush at his home in Kennebunkport, Maine.

“I value my time on the water in one of our nation’s great coastal fisheries, and over the years my dependable, Mercury-powered Fountain powerboats have brought my family and I countless hours of enjoyment,” Bush, 86, said in a statement. “I have learned to never doubt Reggie Fountain and his team. With each new delivery, they somehow manage to top themselves.”

Along with the keys to Fidelity V, Fountain presented Bush with a lifetime membership in the American Striper Association.

I wonder if he would choose a fountain if they were not freebies in trade for some shoulder rubbing with military contracts a few years back?
Hey at least George has still got it going on!

Glad to see Reggie is still able to deliver boats.  He’s not my ideal businessman, but I hate to see any more builders go under. Great to see an 86 year old fisherman want a boat with triple 300 Verados.  Must be doing something right!!

“ lifetime membership in the American Striper Association.”  That should be of value to a 86 yro.
