Caterpillar marine engine sales drop in November

Posted on

Caterpillar reported a slight decline in marine engine sales for November, compared with November 2009, the company said in a report to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Marine engine sales in November 2010 were down 4 percent compared with the year-earlier month. That is less of a decline than the company had posted in the previous two months, compared with the same periods in 2009.

October sales were down 14 percent, compared with October 2009, and September sales were down 38 percent, compared with September 2009.

The marine segment was the only one that saw a decline, Caterpillar reported. Sales of all of the company’s engines were up 12 percent in November.
