Miami show unveils mobile appPosted on
The 70th annual Miami International Boat Show & Strictly Sail, running Feb. 17-21, launched the Miami International Boat Show & Strictly Sail App on iPhone and Android.
“With the number of smart phones expected to exceed 1 billion and mobile Internet usage expected to surpass desktop usage by 2013, the next natural step is for boat shows to go mobile. With the introduction of the Miami Boat show app we’re creating a new, much needed way for consumers to shop the show and engage them in the boat show experience,” chief marketing officer Carl Blackwell said in a statement.
Features of the app include:
- Plotting and charting events and customized schedule: Find where and when for every event at the show. Filter by day and/or location. Create a custom schedule and add or remove events with one touch.
- Exhibitor, seminar and product information: Click for complete descriptions, lists of speakers, manufacturers and exhibitors. Drill down to bios of seminar speakers, exhibitor websites and descriptions of featured products.
- Boat listing: See all boats on display in the show, find boat specifics and link through to manufacturers’ pages.
- Get show ‘social’: Catch the latest show news from the instant Miami International Boat Show & Strictly Sail Facebook and Twitter feed, and share the show with friends – post photos, update your status or tweet right from the app.
“The Miami International Boat Show & Strictly Sail show has three locations throughout Miami Beach with thousands of the world’s leading brands and exhibitors. Our new mobile application gives visitors an exclusive opportunity to personalize their show experience, right from the palm of their hand,” show manager Cathy Rick-Joule said in a statement. “We’re excited to be the only boat show with a mobile application and offer our attendees and exhibitors an innovative way to navigate and organize their boat show experience.”
