Navionics teams with Raymarine for mobile technology

Posted on

Raymarine and Navionics announced the availability of the latest version of Navionics Mobile with plotter-sync technology. It enables the wireless exchange of navigation data between Raymarine’s E-Series Widescreen and G-Series navigation displays and devices such as the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

Waypoint locations, favorite fishing spots and route plans instantly can be synchronized using Wi-Fi technology, allowing Raymarine owners to easily plan their next voyage directly within the Navionics Mobile app.

To get started, users need to add a Wi-Fi router to their Raymarine network. Raymarine offers full instructions at its website on how to set up plotter sync on board a boat.

The Navionics Mobile Marine and Lakes application is available in the iTunes Store for Apple devices.

I think above all, the applications are what matters to me. The Apple apps store have so much more high quality apps available compared to google marketplace. If google or blackberry can keep up with the apple on the apps side of things, you can bet I’ll be a convert. I’m not even a pro Apple dude. In fact, I like the android phones better than the iphone…
