Cruisers University coming to BaltimorePosted on
Cruisers University, the latest creation of United States Yacht Shows, is set to run May 12-15 in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.
The event management company will introduce a combination of cruising education and boat show to an international audience. Cruisers from Australia, British Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and 16 states are registered, organizers said.
Billed as the “Ultimate Aid to Navigation,” the event will feature nearly 100 hours of general cruising lifestyle seminars and technical course work. Topics ranging from diesel maintenance, weather forecasting and on-board electrical to cruising the Great Loop and crossing the Gulf Stream will be featured.
General admission tickets are available to explore more than 70 cruising boats ranging in size from 32 to 64 feet. The boats will be in the water at Baltimore Marine Center at Inner Harbor. Dozens of maritime exhibitors will display their wares and services around Rash Field.
“This is an event designed to change the landscape of boat shows. Participation, interactivity, education and entertainment all add to the enjoyment of being able to climb aboard a wide range of cruising boats, both power and sail, mono hull, multihulls, trawlers and cruisers,” organizers said in a statement.
