RBFF invited to White House outdoors briefing

Posted on

Frank Peterson, president and CEO of the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation, was invited to attend a White House policy briefing Monday about implementing the America’s Great Outdoors Initiative.

“We’re pleased to be part of this important briefing about conservation and recreation in America,” Peterson said in a statement. “The future of boating and fishing, and conservation of our aquatic natural resources, depends on participation. And the more we can engage in programs that address the future of how our nation supports conservation and outdoor recreation, the better.”

President Barack Obama established the initiative in April 2010 to support and promote community-level conservation efforts and to reconnect Americans to the outdoors.

It turns to communities for local grassroots conservation initiatives and calls for reworking inefficient policies and making the federal government a better partner with states, tribes and local communities.

Nothing good can come of Federal involvement. They are not a good partner, Ever. We do not need any more micro-management.
