MarineMax employees join in Florida cleanup

Posted on

More than 50 MarineMax employees and their families recently volunteered to help the non-profit organization Tampa Bay Watch with its mid-summer coastal cleanup, which took place in and around Fort De Soto Park in Tierra Verde, Fla.

“Tampa Bay Watch is dedicated to restoring and protecting the Tampa Bay area waterways, and it was a pleasure for me and our MarineMax team members to actively participate in support of their mission,” chairman, president and CEO William McGill said in a statement.

The cleanup included land- and sea-based efforts designed to remove trash after the busy Independence Day weekend.

MarineMax volunteers walked within and around the mangrove shoreline, pulling out debris that included plastic and glass bottles, plastic foam containers, washed-up sections of boats, construction material and fishing gear, McGill said.
