VEC Technology signs wind-turbine contractPosted on
Sauer Energy, a developer of home and enterprise-scale vertical-axis wind turbine systems, announced that VEC Technology will jointly manufacture its WindCharger model for the development of the propriety molds for the production of its renewable-energy wind turbine blades and long-term production runs.
“We are very confident with VEC Technology as our development partner,” Sauer Energy CEO Dieter Sauer said in a statement. “They have an excellent track record in the field of composites and tooling for manufacturing and optimizing our part designs for market. This type of manufacturing will enable us to have a 10-year warranty and a possible life expectancy of over 20 years.”
The process will produce each turbine blade with precision weight, strength and balance, the companies said. All blades will be serial-numbered and registered. Sauer and VEC Technology will be producing the end product, and the complete assembly, with all parts and manufacturing, will be done in the United States.
“We are very pleased that Sauer has chosen VEC as its sole supplier for its wind turbine blades,” Irwin Jacobs, chairman of J&D Acquisitions, parent holding company of VEC Technology, said in a statement. “Over the past 10 years our patented VEC process has successfully built over 80,000 fiberglass recreational boats sold throughout the world. We’re excited to be partnering with Sauer in becoming their exclusive renewable wind energy blade supplier.”
