Newport show reports attendance boost

Posted on

Organizers of the Newport International Boat Show in Rhode Island say their exhibitors were happy with the mood of visitors and the sales activities that took place this year.

The show recorded attendance equal to prerecession levels, organizers say, and was about 5 percent higher than in 2010 and about 15 percent higher than in 2009.

“We couldn’t have been happier with the quality and quantity of traffic,” Sarah Fawle, director of marketing and public relations at Morris Yachts, was quoted by organizers as saying. “The atmosphere and vibe at the show was fantastic. We saw many familiar friends, as well as met with brand new prospects, several of whom have already requested proposals from us.”
