Florida marina manager gains AMI certification

Posted on

Westrec Marinas’ Fernandina Harbor Marina in Florida announced that manager Joe Springer received the Certified Marina Manager designation from the Association of Marina Industries.

“CMMs represent the elite in the marina and recreational boating industry. They value true personal and professional excellence and strive to maintain the highest levels of ethical and moral conduct in their commitment to the marina industry,” Westrec Southern region manager John Louis said. “CMMs are marina professionals who have completed an extensive training and certification process through the globally recognized International Marina Institute and embrace the continuance of education and training for themselves and those who work within the marina industry.”

Springer received the CMM designation in January at the AMI’s International Marina & Boatyard Conference.

He joined Fernandina Harbor Marina in 2010 after the city of Fernandina Beach awarded management of the facility to Westrec.

Westrec said Springer has worked diligently to provide excellent service for marina patrons, their guests and transient boaters.
