RBFF debuts state-park promotion

The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation’s Take Me Fishing campaign launched a promotion that will focus on what it calls one of the best boating and fishing assets in the country – state parks and recreation areas.

Nature’s Waterpark Showdown is starting this week during National Fishing and Boating Week, which continues through Sunday.

The promotion will utilize the TakeMeFishing.org Facebook page to tell current and potential fans that state “water” parks are great places to boat, fish and have fun outdoors with family and friends. Each week, three pre-selected state parks from a region of the country will be highlighted, and fans can vote by “liking” their favorites.

The park with the most “likes” each week will make it to the final showdown, creating a list of the Top 8 State Parks in the country.

Fans also can enter to win weekly prizes, including Bass Pro Shops gift cards. One fan will win the grand prize — a trip for a family of four to a top-rated state park of their choice.

“RBFF hopes to create awareness of state parks and drive interest and participation in boating and fishing in these areas,” RBFF president and CEO Frank Peterson said in a statement.
