VIDEO: Suzuki Marine rolls out new 4-strokesPosted on
Suzuki Marine this morning debuted five new 4-stroke outboards at a media presentation in the Florida Keys, promising to heighten the fight for a larger share of the market.
“We have Suzuki engine dealers, boatbuilders and members of the press here with us today, and I promise you we have something to interest and excite every one of you,” Larry VanDiver, senior director of Suzuki Motorcycle and Marine, told an audience of about 200. “Even in this challenging market, we continue to introduce new engines with outstanding performance, great fuel economy and clean emissions.”
The presentation took place at the Ocean Reef Resort in Key Largo.

The new engines are the DF15A, DF20A, DF115A, DF140A and DF250AP. The “A” in each model name identifies the engine as a second-generation product. The 250AP is also a second-generation engine, and it will be offered with selective rotation, which allows the engine to have counter-rotation capability.
The 15A, 20A and 250AP are completely new engines, but the 115A and 140A are based on the same baseline design as their predecessors, the DF115 and DF140, says Greenwood.
The 15A and 20A are available now. The remaining three engines will hit the market in late fall.
About 30 boatbuilders sent representatives to the event. “For the past few years we’ve been hanging more and more Suzukis,” says Craig Silbernick, director of materials and supply chain for Larson Boats. “Suzuki has continued to make more and more of a name for themselves.”
The engines will be available for testing. They are mounted on nine boats from 12 to 33 feet. Look for a follow-up story and video in Thursday’s Trade Only Today.
