NMBA schedules annual lending conference

The National Marine Bankers Association’s 2012 lending conference will take place Sept. 9-11 in Newport, R.I.

The agenda for the 33rd annual NMBA Marine Lending Conference, which will be held at the Newport Marriott hotel, will feature a number of topics that are timely and relevant to the challenges in today’s lending environment.

Some of the topics and speakers include:

• The Recreational Boating Growth Summit has brought together participants from all facets of the marine industry to educate and recruit new boaters. Carl Blackwell, vice president of marketing and communications for the National Marine Manufacturers Association, will provide an update on this initiative and discuss how we can all help promote recreational boating.

• Gina Martin Adams, director and senior institutional equity strategist for Wells Fargo Securities LLC, will return to share her insight and expectations on the economy and its impact on the boating business.

• Michael Benoit, partner at Hudson Cook LLP specializing in consumer financial services law, will address the enforcement of provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act and the intentions of the newly formed Consumer Finance Protection Bureau.
