Former White House staffer visits Structural CompositesPosted on
Jim Kohlenberger, former chief of staff of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, today will tour Structural Composites, a Melbourne, Fla., composites manufacturer that has developed innovative lightweight boat technology.
The company “embodies President Obama’s vision for small businesses,” according to a statement. “President Obama believes that we should stand behind small businesses as we always have — by investing in education and training, building roads and bridges and keeping our edge in research and technology.”
After years of economic policy focused on the needs of big business, Obama has invested in entrepreneurs and small business owners by cutting taxes, helping them expand into international markets and providing the capital they need to invest and grow, according to the statement.
“From the mom-and-pop storefront shops that anchor Main Street to the high-tech startups that keep America on the cutting edge, small businesses are the backbone of our economy and the cornerstones of our nation’s promise,” the statement said.
