Mastry Engine Center buys marine genset builder

Posted on

Mastry Engine Center acquired the assets of Entec West, which offers U.S.-built 4.2-kW marine gensets using Farymann diesel engines.

The agreement is inclusive of all castings, drawings and trademarks and creates an OEM relationship between Mastry and Farymann, according to Mastry.

Entec West was based in Portland, Ore., and carried Farymann engines for nearly 40 years. Germany-based Farymann’s history dates from 1947, with the company specializing in producing diesel engines for many marine and industrial applications.

“This is a strategic addition to our current MasPower generator line,” Mastry general manager Kevin Carlan said in a statement. “With the compact dimensions and lightweight design of these small units we now have solutions for boats with very limited space below deck. The direct relationship with Farymann enables us to more efficiently serve our boatbuilder customers and repower dealers and will create new opportunities.”

Mastry plans to debut the new gensets Oct. 4-8 at the Annapolis Sailboat Show.

Founded in 1962, Mastry specializes in marine and industrial engines for OEM and repower use. Its family of more than 140 authorized dealers supports customers throughout the southeastern United States and the Caribbean.
