Centurion Boats names wake-surfing contest winnerPosted on
Centurion Boats announced the winner of its “Win a Trip to the World Wake Surfing Championship Contest.”
The contest, which was held in July and August, encouraged applicants to enter by submitting their name and contact information. The grand prize includes airfare, hotel, rental car and VIP event passes for three nights at the BlueWater Resort and Casino in Parker, Ariz., the site of the 2012 World Wake Surfing Championship.
Mark Ayers, of Pfafftown, N.C., near Winston-Salem, is the winner. Ayers is a wakesurfer, and his daughter, Gabby, has been entering wakesurfing contests this summer. Her success recently brought her an invitation to join the Overton’s team.
Ayers, who is bringing Gabby with him next week, said, “When I saw this contest offer, I entered, but never expected to win. Then, when the call came in that we won, I couldn’t believe it. We are so excited and we want to thank Centurion for the opportunity.”
Ayers’ prize pack also includes a TransWorld WakeBoarding photo session with his favorite athlete, a photo in the magazine’s spring issue, a video sequence on WakeBoardingmag.com and a mock souvenir cover, along with VIP credentials for the event. The prize package has a $2,000 value.
“We knew that for the right person, winning a trip to this event would be very special,” Centurion Boats marketing directorJim Emmons said in a statement. “We are so pleased to have Mark Ayers as our winner and look forward to seeing him at the event. We realized that our contest idea was a huge success when we first spoke to Mark and his excitement came jumping through the phone line. He was so excited that he drove from North Carolina to Florida to join the Centurion Team at Surf Expo in Orlando two weeks ago.”
The World Wake Surfing Championship is the top event of the competitive wake-surfing season.
