Ebbtide names new North American presidentPosted on
Ebbtide Corp. announced today that Richard Anderson was promoted to president of North American operations, replacing former owner and longtime president Tommy Trabue, who will continue as a consultant to the company.
“Richard has been invaluable to the Ebbtide team and he is well respected in the recreational and sport boating industry,” new Ebbtide owner Xianhua Ma said in a statement. “He brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the job, and this promotion formally recognizes Richard’s hard work and his ongoing leadership of the team.”
“Ebbtide will continue to grow and expand as a world-class boatbuilder with continued focus on our unique product quality and brand authenticity,” Anderson said in a statement. “I am also pleased to say Ebbtide will continue working with Tommy Trabue, prior owner and president, in his new capacity as Ebbtide consultant. We want to thank him for his leadership and are looking forward to long-term collaboration.”
Anderson previously was vice president at Ebbtide. He has worked in the recreational and sport boating business as a vice president for Wellcraft and general manager for AquaSport. Early in his career he worked as a brand manager and regional sales director at Ebbtide, as well as regional sales manager for Chris-Craft and Wellcraft.
The company 321 Capital Partners LLC announced in July that it completed the sale of Tennessee-based Ebbtide to a privately held Chinese investment company, a move Trabue called “bittersweet.”
With help from the Chinese government, Ma planned to develop a complementary manufacturing facility in China’s Shandong province. He also expressed an interest in investing in improvements at the company’s 150,000-square-foot White Bluff, Tenn., facility.
