Registration open for IMI workshop in October

Posted on

The International Marina Institute, the training subsidiary of the Association of Marina Industries, opened registration for its new case-study analysis workshop called “Marina Makeover: An Interactive Experience,” scheduled for Oct. 21-22 at the Renaissance Boca Raton in Boca Raton, Fla.

Based on the IMI’s Advanced Marina Management training methods, the interactive workshop is designed for marina professionals who want to learn more about renovating their marinas, exploring new profit center ideas, rethinking the design of their marinas and seeing what other marinas are doing.

“We are using the same proven methods we use to train hundreds of Certified Marina Managers worldwide,” AMI president Jim Frye said in a statement. “With this one-of-a-kind workshop, we’re bringing a taste of that intensive, hands-on training to all professionals in the marina industry.”

Attendees will choose one of five existing marina facilities from different parts of the United States and work in small teams to perform a case study. The teams will redesign the facilities, increasing the participants’ overall ability to design, upgrade, and maintain marina facilities. Each group will present its findings and suggestions to the rest of the workshop participants.
