St. Petersburg show plans new offeringsPosted on
The 35th annual St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show will take place Nov. 29-Dec. 2 at the Progress Energy Center for the Arts Mahaffey Theater Yacht Basin and Albert Whitted Park.
Those who attend the Florida Gulf Coast’s largest show will find powerboats, sailboats, marine electronics and other products, as well as marine seminars and children’s fishing clinics presented by the non-profit Hook The Future.
At the Author’s Corner attendees can access a selection of marine-related books and meet the authors. The show also will feature refreshments and live musical entertainment along the waterfront area.
New to this year’s show is the Sailboat Builders and Designers Pavilion, located at the northeast corner of the in-water sailboat display. The pavilion offers builders and designers of custom sailboats a unique setting to display their custom creations, even if they do not have a boat available to display at the show.
“As the largest boat show on Florida’s West Coast we continually strive to bring our guests a fun and exciting boat show,” Show Management marketing and advertising director Steve Sheer said in a statement.
Show Management co-owns, manages and produces the show. “The show has been a part of the St. Petersburg community for 35 years, and we continue to look for ways to introduce new features, such as the Sailboat Builders and Designers Pavilion, to engage attendees and elevate their experience,” Sheer added.
The show’s smart-phone app, MyBoatShow, has been enhanced in ways that include a new search feature allowing attendees to search for boats by name; an upgraded “favorite” feature enabling users to see which boats they favored at other Show Management-produced boat shows; and a contact form renamed “Connect,” allowing users to connect with Show Management, access their YouTube page, Twitter, Facebook and the ability to subscribe to the Show Management e-newsletter.
