AIM names editorial director, associate publisher for marine magazinesPosted on
Power & Motoryacht editor-in-chief George Sass Jr. was promoted to the newly created position of editorial director for Active Interest Media’s Marine Group.
Sass will continue as editor-in-chief alongside his new duties, the company announced this morning. AIM owns and publishes several marine publications, including Soundings and Soundings Trade Only.
The editors-in-chief of PassageMaker, Soundings, Trade Only and Yachts International will report to Sass in the companys effort to ensure that every magazine we develop is the absolute best in the marketplace, Marine Group publisher Gary DeSanctis said in a statement.
His knowledge and insight into our business both the marine side as well as the publishing side is tremendous, DeSanctis said.
In other news, Jo-Aynne von Born, who was serving as director of marine advertising at Yachts International, was promoted to associate publisher of the magazine.
Jo-Aynnes enthusiasm and take-charge attitude has helped Yachts consistently grow their business for the last five years, DeSanctis said. As a matter of fact, Patterson Advertising Reports singled out Yachts as the only marine magazine to have constant growth over the last five years.
