New Jersey show reports attendance boost

Posted on

Organizers of the 2012 Jersey Shore Boat Sale & Expo said attendance increased to 5,177 this year, a 57 percent increase from the 2011 show, which was affected by rain, and a 25 percent increase from the 2010 event.

The Marine Trades Association of New Jersey also said the number of boats on display increased to 85,000 square feet, a 10 percent increase from 2011.

The show was held Sept. 21-23 at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood Township, home of the Lakewood BlueClaws minor-league baseball team.

The MTA/NJ said the show has grown each year since its inception in 2009. This year’s event featured 240 new and used boats for sale, including 2013 models by 23 dealers representing 60 boatbuilders.

“A fabulous facet of our show is that we do not sacrifice quality for affordability. The MTA/NJ produces a top-notch show without incurring high overhead,” association president Kersten Roehsler said in a statement. “First-time visitors always comment on how impressed they are with the look and layout of the show and the variety of boats and products on display.”
