Back Cove Yachts celebrates 500th yacht build

Posted on

backcove1114Back Cove Yachts said it will launch its 500th yacht on Dec. 5.

The Rockland, Maine-based company has turned out composite hardtop express powerboats, currently in 30-, 34- and 37-foot models, since it was established in 2003.

The celebration will take place at the manufacturer’s 240,000-square-foot facility. The entire Back Cove team (almost 100 employees — equal to its pre-recession level) and their families will be on hand to celebrate the milestone launch. The Back Cove crew will be joined by members of the Rockland community and the press.

“Nine years, two shops, six models, 500 boats and 100 top-notch boatbuilders … we are, indeed, thankful for our success,” Back Cove COO Jason Constantine said in a statement.

Back Cove and its sister manufacturer, Sabre Yachts, displayed the Back Cove 37, Sabre 38 Salon Express and Sabre 48 Salon Express at the recent Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
