MDCE 2012: Certification program honors dealers

Posted on

Marine Five Star Dealer Certification, one of the core elements of the Grow Boating initiative, announced on Wednesday the recipients of two new awards to honor certified marine dealerships for best practices and for being the best places to work.

Dealers received their awards at the Marine Dealer Conference & Expo in Orlando, Fla. They were based on results from a confidential employee satisfaction survey and from the program’s certification business audit review.

The Great Outdoors Marine, of Lavalette, W.Va., won first place in the Best Practices category and Schock Boats, of Newport Beach, Calif., was the first-place winner in the Best Dealerships to Work For category. Ten dealerships were honored in each category.

“Best practices and employee satisfaction are key elements in the [certification] program —designed to enhance the consumer boat-buying and owning experience — which encourages sales and stronger, more profitable dealerships,” Marine Retailers Association of the Americas president Matt Gruhn said in a statement. “We honor these Marine Five Star Certified Dealers for their efforts to improve our industry and to lead the way for others.”
