MDCE 2012: Social media firm upgrades MRAA membership

Josh Chiles is on a roll.

The 33-year-old founder and CEO of Engaged, a company that helps marine dealers customize the level of assistance they receive to manage social media, has had a pretty big couple of months.

It’s now an official premier partner with the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas, Chiles told Soundings Trade Only at the Marine Dealer Conference & Expo in Orlando, Fla.

MRAA members will get two exclusive offers from Engaged. One is the One-Hour Social Media Review, available to MRAA members at the discounted price of $239, a 20 percent discount.

For those who want to get started ramping up their business presence on social media outlets or for those who’ve reached a plateau, Engaged will serve as an in-depth consultant for a discounted rate and give suggestions for improvement, Chiles said.

In the Anchor’s Aweigh program, Engaged will create and post social media content designed to meet a dealership’s goals at a discounted rate of $329 a month.

The partnership was announced during the MRAA’s breakout session at the dealer conference and comes slightly more than a month after the Brunswick Boat Group announced Engaged as an official Brunswick Dealer Advantage provider. That means Brunswick, after a long vetting process, touts the company as a chosen outlet for dealers to do business.

Another exclusive (and free) benefit Engaged is offering dealers is a soon-to-be-launched “30 Days of Social Media Content,” Chiles said.

That project “is going to be sweet,” Chiles said.

“We went back through content we wrote for clients and monitored engagements for six months,” Chiles said. “The content that had the most engagement, likes, comments, we took that out and put it into this program.”

That content includes customized posts for Facebook, Google+ and Twitter, as well as blogs, Chiles said.

Asked whether he currently has a boat, Chiles says he doesn’t have time for one with all the new business. But next on his list is a 450 Sea Ray Sundancer.
