Centurion Boats named Todd Gaughan as its new marketing director.
His previous position was director of the World Wake Surfing Championship, which he has produced for more than three years.
During his tenure as event director Gaughan managed the Centurion pro team and founded the World Series of Wake Surfing on behalf of Fineline Sports Marketing. The World Series of Wake Surfing is the worldwide qualifier for the World Wake Surfing Championship, which Gaughan will continue to produce.
To take on his new role, Gaughan and his family have relocated to Merced, Calif., where Centurion has been based since 1975.
“We are pleased that Todd has accepted this new position,” Centurion president Rick Lee said in a statement. “For some time now we have wanted to bring our marketing back in house to Merced. With his work on the Worlds Todd has demonstrated that he has the skills for this position and the timing is right for Centurion.”
In a related announcement, Jim Emmons, who managed Centurion’s marketing efforts from his office in Florida throughout 2012, will retain a position with the marketing team as a corporate resource and marketing consultant.
“We value the experience and knowledge that Jim brings to Centurion and we look forward to his continued involvement in our big-picture strategic planning,” Lee said.
