Hanse Group reports sales growth in U.S.

Posted on

The U.S. subsidiary of German boatbuilder Hanse Group is reporting a 20 percent growth in sales in the first two quarters of fiscal 2012-13.

Advancements in design and the introduction of new models are the driving forces behind the growth, the Greifswald-based company said.

“Our new models are better geared toward the North American market,” Hanse US managing director Douglas Brophy said in a statement. “Our boats are for the sailing purist. The consumers are responding to our efforts.”

Hanse US began importing boats to North America in January 2005. Hanse US is currently marketing Hanse, Moody and Dehler through a network of 12 dealers. Hanse US is located in Newburyport, Mass.
