The Palm Beach (Fla.) Marine Flea Market and Seafood Festival will be held Feb. 16-17 at the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach, Fla.

About 200 nautically themed vendors will offer items for sale that include boating equipment, engine parts, boating apparel, diving equipment, antiques, maps, furniture, nautical artwork, jewelry, marine artifacts and floating docks.

Visitors who want to sell or purchase a boat or watercraft can head to the Boat Showcase, separate from the Marine Flea Market, where there will be private sellers and boat dealers.

A public boat auction on Feb. 17 will feature more than 100 boat repossessions, short sales, dealer trades and private liquidations for sale.

“The South Florida Fairgrounds is the perfect venue since it’s right in the heart of Palm Beach County,” event promoter Larry Burdgick said. “They offer the space we need, along with great parking for our guests.”

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days. Admission is $7; children under the age of 12 will be admitted free.

The seventh annual Boatbuilders’ Show on Cape Cod will take place Feb. 8-10 at the Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis, Mass.

During the last six years, close to 18,000 people have visited the show to see a large selection of unique, custom and limited-production wood and fiberglass boats.

Boaters looking for something other than off-the-rack production boats can see 50 exhibitors’ custom-built sail and powerboats.

“Smaller builders of custom and limited production boats are often lost in the maze of mainstream boat shows,” organizer Scott Dayton said in a statement. “Buyers looking for the kind of craftsmanship and unique design usually found only on limited-production boats have few opportunities to go on board and compare workmanship and features. Very much like the Maine Boatbuilders’ Show when it started years ago, this is an opportunity for smaller builders to show off their craft in a larger venue, some of the first time outside of their own shops.”

“Splash” consists of three separate acrobatic performances high above the boats in the West Hall at the CenturyLink Event Center. The daily nautical-themed performances will feature some of Seattle’s most talented aerialists and acrobats doing Cirque du Soleil-style aerial work and will be performed on a corde lisse (or rope) a cloud swing and a triple trapeze.

It is the time of the year when events are held simultaneously. Christmas is dubbed as the season of season and the mother of all festivities because we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. It is also the time of the year when events are held because many people will flock due to the breaks they have from work or school.
