Hatteras owners club seeks growthPosted on
A club for Hatteras owners is expanding its criteria to attract more members as owners either leave boating or move in another direction, the club announced.
The Hatteras 1510 Club recently changed its name to The Hatteras Classic Club, reflecting a decision to include all Hatteras owners instead of just those with a beam of 15 feet, 10 inches.
Eight members formed the club in September 2010. It now has nearly 100 worldwide.
Recently, however, as more owners are either getting out of boating or moving in another direction, there are limited numbers of enthusiasts that are willing to devote the time and resources or maintain these lovely vessels, the club wrote in a statement.
Hatteras parent company Brunswick Corp. recently announced that it wanted to expeditiously sell the brand.
The club hosts a national Labor Day rendezvous that includes guest speakers and maintenance seminars, as well as a winter rendezvous either in Florida or the Caribbean. A Great Lakes rendezvous is held in the spring or early summer.
