Yamaha sponsors marine conservation groupPosted on
Yamaha Marine Group announced that it is the first Platinum Sponsor of the Center for Coastal Conservation.
“The corporate leadership of Yamaha Marine Group has a clear vision for the future of recreational fishing and boating,” conservation center president Jeff Angers said in a statement. “With Yamaha’s incredible contributions of time, talent and treasure we are better able to advance federal public policy that strengthens the entire fishing and boating community.”
The role of the Center for Coastal Conservation is to affect laws and policy related to the conservation of marine resources with broad abilities to pursue political solutions.
The organization is non-partisan and focuses on having an impact in the national political arena, principally Congress and federal regulatory agencies. A few of the initiatives it supports include promoting a quality recreational fishery; ending overfishing by a certain time; rebuilding plans for fisheries with time constraints; improving angling and boating access; and working waterfronts and marinas.
“Yamaha Marine has been an active member of the Center for Coastal Conservation since its inception, and we were pleased to increase our support this year,” Yamaha Marine Group president Ben Speciale said in a statement. “Working together, we will do our best to help move public policy into a direction that will support conservation and the growth of marine industry overall.”
