The Yamaha Marine Group announced the appointment of Jake Hamlin as social media coordinator and Darren May as promotions and collateral coordinator for the marine marketing department.

Both Hamlin and May will support advertising manager Frank Wilhelm.

Hamlin will expand Yamaha Marine’s social community and help leverage social media platforms for Yamaha’s marketing and promotion initiatives. He will also support the development and maintenance of mobile applications and the Yamaha Marine website. Hamlin’s background includes social media support at CNN International, as well as team sponsorships and event promotions for Pirelli Tire’s Off-Road MX Racing program.

Darren May joins the team as promotions and collateral coordinator, where he will develop and design dealer promotions and new marketing materials. He will also coordinate the development of a new marketing resource platform for co-op advertising and dealer assets. May comes to Yamaha Marine with a background in advertising and promotions from JMC Advertising and in marketing for Subaru of America.

“We welcome both Jake and Darren to our marketing team,” Wilhelm said in a statement. “With Jake on board, we greatly look forward to expanding Yamaha Marine’s brand awareness across the social media spectrum. And Darren’s support of our dealer promotions and co-op advertising will move several critical initiatives forward. Their collective backgrounds in social media and promotions are an excellent fit to round out our team.”
