Posted on

Marine lighting and electrical supplier Daniel R. Smith and Associates is now known as C. Smith and Associates.

The Riviera Beach, Fla., company is celebrating 25 years in business with a new name, a new team and new U.S.-made products. It is now under the sole ownership of Cathy Smith.

C. Smith and Associates introduced several European product lines into North America — Vimar, BCM, Cantalupi, Palagi and Savage, among others — and established them as standards in the marine industry.

“We are proud to announce our 25th year as the leading U.S. provider of marine lighting and Vimar products,” Smith said in a statement. “We work hard to provide you with state-of-the-art, high-quality and innovative lighting and electrical products. Our new team includes management with extensive sales, technical, product-development, quality-control and customer service experience.”

New products to be showcased at the upcoming Miami International Boat Show include a Universal Solid State Dimmer with 9-36 volt AC/DC operation and up to 30-amp cool operating capacity (1,000 watt).

Smith and Associates also will feature a new compact high-output LED (600 lumens) for interior and exterior light fixtures. The module will be fully dimmable, 9-30 volt AC/DC, 4.8 watts and available in warm white, cool white, RGB and other color options.

“DRSA set the standard for marine lighting 25 years ago,” sales and technical manager Buddy Morgan said in a statement. “As CSA, we are very excited to now be manufacturing our new products in the USA. We are focusing on providing our customers with products utilizing the latest designs and newest technologies.”

So, new team……are the sales people we have built trust & company loyalty to (regardless of competition or price), still on-board or do we start over?

Tim, the team that is in place is mostly the same people who have been supporting you and the rest our customers for the past two years. Any changes have been for the best. The engineering team and I are the new additions to the team bringing more experience (I have 35 yrs in the marine industry alone) and resources to your disposal. I am always available to discuss any questions or concerns. Regards, Buddy Morgan
