MIAMI: Fox shines TV lights on the industryPosted on
MIAMI BEACH — The “Fox & Friends” morning show on Fox News Channel is coming to the Miami International Boat Show and Strictly Sail to take a look at the marine industry today.
That’s according to National Marine Manufacturers Association spokeswoman Sarah Ryser, who told Trade Only Today on Thursday that Fox Business also will air live from the boat shows every hour on the hour for four hours today.
The network is slated to interview MarineMax CEO William McGill, Chaparral president Jim Lane, Brunswick Corp. CEO Dustan McCoy and NMMA president Thom Dammrich from the show venues and from the water, Ryser said.
The coverage is the latest in a push by the NMMA to spread the word that boat sales were up 10 percent in 2012. Dammrich also appeared on the network at the Progressive Insurance New York Boat Show.
The marine industry’s gains have been featured in news outlets that include the Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times and the “CBS Evening News.”
“We just want our members to see how hard we are working to get the message out,” Ryser said.
