MIAMI VIDEO: Grady-White debuts Freedom 375

Posted on

grady0215MIAMI BEACH — Grady-White introduced the Freedom 375 — the world’s largest outboard-powered dual console, according to the builder — Thursday at the Miami International Boat Show.

The 375 uses the same hull as the Grady-White Offshore 360, so it can handle the rough stuff if need be, Grady-White vice president of marketing Shelley Tubaugh said after a morning press introduction of the boat.

But Grady-White aims to attract families who want to use the dual console for a variety of activities near shore — barbecuing, water sports, swimming, inshore fishing, cocktail parties — you name it, she said.

“It has a multigenerational appeal to it,” she said. “With a big boat like this you can have activities in the bow and a whole different set of activities in the cockpit and the helm seating area.”

Grady calls its arsenal of amenities “ultimate transformer” features because of their dual uses. “Your fishbox one day can be your cooler holding your beverage of choice the next day,” Tubaugh said.

The features include the configuration of hideaway sliding seats and storage units. There’s also a Corian countertop set behind the companion seating and a summer kitchen/wet bar integrated behind the helm seating. And standard equipment includes the SureShade electric-powered retractable sunshade.

The portside air-conditioned console cabin houses a sliding bunk and an aft bunk (both 80 inches long). While you’re stretched out in a bunk you can enjoy the entertainment center, with its 19-inch flat-screen television and an iOS-compatible stereo system. The console also has a plush bench seat, cedar-lined closet, mirror and storage. The shower and head are in the console’s starboard side.
